Save the Children launched Christmas Jumper Day in 2012. It’s their annual charity drive in which people are encouraged to wear their whackiest, most outlandish Christmas jumper in the name of raising money for children across the world. The charity saves of your donations and says: “They will be helping to give the world’s forgotten children the chance to have a brighter future”.
How to join in
There’s plenty of Christmas jumpers on sale in Banbury’s shops, but it doesn’t have to be a new one. Many people decorate an existing jumper.
This year people are being encouraged to join in as a school group, work team or with their families. Once you have signed up you’ll have access to all the fun ideas for Christmas Jumper Day 2020. These include Christmas quiz ideas for Zoom, virtual bingo, an awesome online charity sweepstake and a virtual Christmas party!
If there are talented (or not-so-talented) singers in your team Virtual Christmas carolling for charity is a great way to raise money and have a laugh!
Sign-up now on the Save the Children Christmas Jumper website.
Remember, if you’re joining in please send a picture of you in your jumper to firstname.lastname@example.org! We’ll post pictures of the Banbury FM team suitably attired in their festive knitwear on the day.
