The two-day waterside festival will celebrate the history and significance of Banbury’s canal.
The canal opened in 1778 and started an important chapter in Banbury’s development, bringing trade and business from the industrial midlands and created jobs and wealth.
Visitors on both days can enjoy boat trips, music, dance displays, charity stalls, a covered market – and a choice of eat-as-you-go refreshments.
Bridge Street Park will host live music from local bands plus food and drink stalls and crazy golf.
A children’s funfair in The Mill Arts Centre car park will provide gentle rides on both days.
Chamberlaine Court car park will be home to Dance Banbury’s programme of amazing performances and workshops from acclaimed dance companies.
The GF Club garden will be the scene for folk music fans.
Moored narrowboats selling a variety of goods will make a towpath stroll well worthwhile.
The covered market will be in the car park beneath Lidl – together with charity stalls and acoustic performances by local musicians.
On the town side of the canal, Tooley’s Boatyard will be the start and finish of 45-minute boat trips.
An extra attraction on Sunday will be children’s activities and workshops at the town’s museum.
The festival, organised by Banbury Town Council, will run from 11am to 5pm both days.

								Spend your evening with us and some brilliant memories from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Each evening we dig through our massive collection of some of the biggest songs from three fantastic decades.

From the 1960s we'll play the songs that were around at the time when England won the World Cup, man stepped on the moon for the first time, Dr Who was first broadcast, and everyone was groovy during the summer of love.

From the 1970s it's the tunes that will bring back memories from the period when the sun never stopped shining during that long hot summer, people played with Simon, we went to see movies like Grease and Jaws for the first time, and we boogied at the best discos.

From the 1980s we select songs that were around in the era of the first CD players and home computers, the iron lady, the first episode of The Simpsons and the Live Aid concerts.

You'll be singing along with your favourite music from three brilliant decades all evening long!
