Banbury Choral Society present Bach’s St John’s Passion

Banbury Choral Society were formed in 1942 and this year celebrate 80 years of singing

The choir will perform Bach’s St John Passion accompanied by the St James’ Players, an authentic Baroque ensemble from London.

There will also be a line-up of five brilliant young soloists on the verge of their dazzling careers, including Mollie Smith (soprano), Rosamond Thomas (contralto) and Christopher Willoughby (tenor), all under the baton of the choir’s inspirational conductor, Julian Harris.

Bach’s St John Passion is intensely dramatic with an overriding message of compassion, hope, and ultimate salvation. The Banbury choir will perform this glorious work in German. The audience will be provided with the English translation.

There will be an interval with bar.

Tickets are £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s.
