Banbury Michaelmas Fair runs from Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th October, organised by Bob Wilson Fun Fairs.
The Fair will be officially opened by the Chairman of Cherwell District Council and Banbury Town Mayor at 4pm on Wednesday. Fairgoers will be able to enjoy a free go on which ever ride they touch with the golden key.
The fair opens at midday on Thursday and Friday.
Banbury’s history includes fairs dating back a number of centuries. These initially were held for local trade, job recruitment and recreation. A Charter was subsequently signed which included the provision to hold an event annually on the first Thursday after Old Michaelmas Day. It is believed this is the first time ever that the fair has not taken place.
