On May Day afternoon, Monday 1 May, members of Banbury Quaker Meeting hope that many people will join them to celebrate the life of the beech tree which recently had to be felled, but which had graced the garden of their Meeting House for well over 150 years.
The afternoon will include a variety of music and songs, including folk, dance and African, along with poetry and other readings. There will be films shown about the exciting life of a tree. There will also be activities suitable for all ages, including a meditation session. Children will be very welcome to any session.
Everyone is welcome to come and join Quakers for the afternoon or to drop in any time from 12.30pm until 5pm. Refreshments will be available throughout, but anyone wishing to join in a shared lunch at 12.30pm should if possible bring along a vegan dish to contribute to the meal.
The event is free to attend.
