Twickenham becomes a one day vaccination site
31/05/2021
It’s estimated 15,000 jabs could be given at the rugby stadium today
Twickenham is set to deliver nearly 15,000 coronavirus vaccines to elligible groups today.
The latest age group to be offered a vaccine are those 30 and over, as well as continuing vaccinations for those who are clinically vulnerable.
The national rugby stadium is being used in an effort to bring down coronavirus spread and stop spread of any new variants.
Anyone elligible will be able to get their jab this bank holiday Monday without booking, although you can also book online to reduce queue times.
The site is being described as “the biggest vaccination centre in England” – and could lead to mass vaccination of local communities following a surge in Indian Covid variant cases in nearby Hounslow.
