Win £500 to spend time in Banbury and support local businesses

04/11/2020

Amazing prize of ten £50 vouchers to spend in a variety of Banbury outlets

Winter evenings and the colder weather usually herald the start of winter celebrations.   This year things will be very different as we are about to head into another lockdown.   However, there’s still plenty to celebrate here in North Oxfordshire – including your chance to win a fantastic £500 to spend in town!   What’s even better you’ll be supporting local businesses at the same time.

Banbury BID has teamed up with Fort Locks Self Storage to give away £500 in vouchers to keep that festive feeling moving.   Entry is as simple as downloading the LoyalFree app and clicking a button.

One lucky winner will receive 10 vouchers worth £50 each to spend at:

  • GAME Banbury, Castle Quay
  • H&M, Castle Quay Shopping Centre
  • Nothing But Footprints, Castle Quay Shopping Centre
  • Paw Paw, Bridge Street
  • Union, Parsons Street
  • So… Hair, Nails & Beauty, Parsons Street
  • Superdrug, Castle Quay Shopping Centre
  • TK Maxx, Calthorpe Street
  • Waterstones, Castle Quay Shopping Centre
  • White Stuff, High Street

It’s a prize package that has something for everyone.   The vouchers could be given away as a Christmas present, used to buy gifts for friends or family, or even used for the ultimate retail therapy session.

The competition has been put together to help support many businesses that fall into the ‘non-essential’ retail category and therefore will be forced to close from Thursday.

Fort Locks Self Storage has donated the prize.   Nick Poole from the company said: “We are proud to support this initiative – there has never been a more important time to stay local and support our town centre businesses. Whilst we are outside of the BID district, we became voluntary members as we believe strongly in working together.”

Jo Holland from Banbury BID added: “Christmas is a time for giving – we are grateful to Fort Locks Self Storage for getting into the spirit. This will give people the chance to spend money and time in Banbury whilst supporting a variety of town centre businesses.”

From tomorrow pubs, restaurants, gyms and non-essential shops will close for at least four weeks.   For many November is traditionally seen as peak trading time in the run up to Christmas.

Ms Holland said: “This is another devastating blow for those in the leisure, hospitality and retail sector. Not only did these businesses lose trade whilst shut, but they also had to invest more to become COVID-safe only to be forced to close again in the lead up to Christmas.

“We will continue to do all we can to help our businesses stay viable and visible and give shoppers and visitors a reason to be bright in Banbury this winter.”

To enter, download the free app for Banbury town centre at www.loyalfree.co.uk or in the App Store and click the promotion. Entry is open now and closes on 16th December 2020. You can enter every day for more chances to win. The winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries. Full terms and conditions can be found at www.banburybid.com/spendingtime.
