The bakers will be setting up a distribution centre in a facility next to the M40

Baking company Warburtons is heading to Banbury.   They will be setting up a new depot in a unit next to the M40 having taken a 15-year lease on the premises.

The facility is on schedule to be completed by June next year.   Once operational it will create up to 90 new jobs.

A spokesperson for Warburtons told Banbury FM said: “We are delighted to be investing in a new state-of-the-art depot in Banbury.

“The depot will help us ensure we get products from bakery to stores in the area as fresh as possible each day and is an important part of our overall strategy to reinvest back into our business to support future growth.”

The site is part of Central M40 – a development by the British Airways Pension Fund (BAPF) and Tritax Symmetry.

The Warburtons depot will be 83,750 square feet in size.

The Central M40 project extends to a total of 70 acres.
