Illumination to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Banbury Town Hall will glow purple today (December 3) to mark a worldwide disability day.

The United Nations has organised the International Day of Persons with Disabilities every year since 1992 to spread the word on disability issues, mobilise support for the well-being of disabled people, and create opportunities for people with disabilities.

Banbury Town Council has responded to a request from the town’s Leonard Cheshire Home to light up the clock tower to support the campaign.

Leonard Cheshire is the UK’s leading disability charity.
