A young boy from Bretch Hill will today spend his 6th birthday delivering the joy of his celebration to the children of 18 other families.   Addhu Natarajan will take toys, food and party items to 42 other children so they can also enjoy the day at their houses.

Addhu’s father Prabhu has spent the last few months working tirelessly to help struggling families by organising food parcels.   So far he has delivered over 500 packs containing essential items to those in need.   Over the festive period Prabhu even dressed up as Father Christmas and gave away presents.

Today’s celebration of Addhu’s 6th birthday will see 126 toys, themed cakes, superhero masks and other party items being shared out.   Addhu and dad Prabhu will make the deliveries dressed in full superhero costumes.

In addition some of the families and a further three pensionable age families will be given an indian chicken curry to enjoy.

Prabhu said: “During the pandemic the children are all heroes.   They are missing their activities and missing their friends.   Addhu is very excited.

“Mainly this time everything has been arranged by Addhu.   He was slow, but he wanted to do it and selected which toys to give”.

Despite being the person behind the community spirited endeavours of the last few months, Prabhu is keen to attribute the success of what he is doing to the many individuals and companies who are supporting him and providing items.

Recently Banbury’s MP Victoria Prentis gave him one of her Local Hero awards.   In her letter Mrs Prentis said: “Thanks to your hard work and dedication you have helped make the lockdown period a little easier for so many.   We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to all those who, like you, have worked so hard to support their local community”.
