Flooding of low lying roads, paths and land is possible

Recent rainfall, combined with last weekend’s snow melting, has led to rising river levels in our area.

The Environment Agency says that those levels are forecast to continue to rise on the Sor and Bloxham Brooks.   Areas around these rivers have a flood alert in operation.

In their most recent update earlier this afternoon The Environment Agency said that property flooding is not expected.   However some flooding of low lying roads, paths and land is possible, especially in the Bodicote area.   Incident response staff from the Agency have been in the area clearing trash screens.

Elsewhere, farm fields either side of the Banbury Lane heading towards Kings Sutton are currently under water.

Tomorrow’s weather forecast predicts more wet weather with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow falling for much of Saturday.

The Environment Agency say they expect river levels to remain high over the coming days. Their incident response staff are in the area and clearing trash screens.
