Fatality on train line between Banbury and Leamington

British Transport Police and paramedics called to deal with casualty at 7.51am

Train services from Banbury were disrupted this morning following reports of a casualty on the line between Banbury and Leamington Spa.   British Transport Police and paramedics attended but sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The emergency services were first called to the line near Leamington Spa at 7.51am.   All services between Banbury and Leamington were immediately suspended.

British Transport Police told Banbury FM: “Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The line reopened shortly after 10am.
