The Range coming to Banbury

80 jobs created as store takes over the site occupied until recently by Matalan

Banbury town centre is set to welcome a new brand for shoppers to enjoy.   The Range has confirmed to Banbury FM it will be opening a new store on the site of the old Matalan shop on the corner of George Street and Cherwell Street.

The Range sells products in the home, garden, and leisure areas.   The business has been operating since the late 1980s when its first store opened in Plymouth.

A spokesperson for The Range told us that they don’t currently have a confirmed launch date.

The store will create 80 new jobs, split over a mix of full and part-time roles from store to department managers and warehouse supervisors to retail assistants.   Recruitment will be handled through the local job centre.

Currently The Range’s closest stores to Banbury are in Northampton, Milton Keynes and Aylesbury.
