Banbury United thank supporters and sponsors for ‘keeping the faith’
“It won’t be long now until were all back at the club and on the terraces, supporting the club and enjoying those amazing times with the game we all love”
A message of thanks has been issued by the Banbury United commercial team to their sponsors and supporters as the club acknowledges the backing it has received through “some of our toughest times”.
The 2020/21 season was recently declared null and void with no further league matches taking place. Banbury United acknowledge that many football clubs had only been able to play a handful of games during the season and many had been hit hard financially.
Banbury United says it is looking forward to the new season which will potentially start this August. But they fear that many clubs at their level may struggle to start up again due to financial debts.
The commercial team (Kevin Healey, Mark Allitt, Warren Bartlett, Kirsty Sims and Marc Wheeler) are keen to thank all those who have helped Banbury United during the last few months. They said: “At Banbury United FC, we’ve been so appreciative for the fantastic support our loyal sponsors and supporters have given us through some of our toughest times, and as the current season from 2020 / 2021 has now been made null and void, we just wanted to express a sincerest thank you to each and every one of you for keeping the faith in our club and being there for us through some very dark days.
“We know so many of you will have been hit extra hard through the lockdown with your businesses and personally through the last 12 months but we also just wanted to say we’re always here for you anytime if need a chat or support.”
“It won’t be long now until were all back at the club and on the terraces, supporting the club and enjoying those amazing times with the game we all love.”
Looking to the future the message concludes looking ahead to the 2021/22 season tempting “some very exciting updates from the club with sponsorship and the first team”.
