Boys scooter was stolen during the assault

A 6-year-old boy who had been playing on the skate ramp in Princess Diana Park has suffered an assault with a group of other children kicking and strangling him.   During the incident the boy’s scooter was stolen.

The assault and theft happened at around 6pm last Thursday (August 19).

The victim was pushed off his scooter by a group of six other children who are thought to be aged 6 to 13-years old.   Whilst he was lying on the floor the group continued to kick and strangle him.

The boy received bruising to his legs but did not require hospital treatment.

His black scooter with orange handlebars was also stolen.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Darius Horton, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was at the park around the time of the incident who believes they may have any information that could help our investigation to come forward.
