A patriotic weekend of celebrations in Aynho

The village’s community came together to mark the Platinum Jubilee
Villagers in Aynho have thrown themselves into a weekend of celebrations to mark The Queen’s 70-year reign.
On Friday afternoon the village hall was filled with delicious cakes and sandwiches, stunning flowers, crowns, bunting and the sounds of a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem.
Youngsters paraded through the village proudly showing off the crown’s they had created, setting off on a procession from the Cartwright Hotel.
On Saturday villagers met for a cricket match on the playing field after the wet weather subsided. Youngsters had their faces painted and the community came together at the event which its been suggested some happen again.
