The management team at Castle Quay have completed a walk along the Oxford Canal towpath to raise money for charity.   The team completed a 10-mile trek in hot sunshine, raising money for Banbury’s Sunshine Centre and the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The challenge was completed as part of the One Great Day fund raising initiative which seeks to raise money and support Great Ormond Street and local children’s charities by inspiring, engaging and empowering communities to make a difference by getting involved in a series of local fundraising events.

So far the Castle Quay team have raised £1,000.

One Great Day is a registered charity, initiated in 2014 by parents whose son received care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The Sunshine Centre offers practical help, advice and guidance and emotional support to families in Banbury, ensuring children are happy and receive the best possible start in life.

Oliver Wren, Centre Director at Castle Quay said, “We’re incredibly proud to have taken part in One Great Day – it was a long, hot walk but so worth it now the donations are coming in!

“The work The Sunshine Centre and Great Ormond Street Hospital do is so important to families both locally and nationally, so we really hope our shoppers give whatever they can in support of these valuable institutions.”
