Banbury Cricket Club win the final at White Post Road by 52 runs
Another trophy was added to the cabinet at Banbury Cricket Club last night after the club’s Under 13s won the final of the Gauntlet Goblet Super 8s.
Banbury’s youngsters faced Charlbury Under 13s in the competition’s final at White Post Road and won the game by 52 runs.
Seventeen teams from across the county took part in the Gauntlet Goblet competition. They were formed into four “pools” with each team playing the others in their pool. Banbury Under 13s topped their table after playing all their games.
The winners from each pool were drawn into semi-finals, with Banbury Under 13s defeating Kingston Bagpuize to achieve a place in last night’s final against Charlbury.
A spokesperson for Banbury Cricket Club praised the youngsters, saying: “Superb performance, attitude and enthusiasm from the team!”
