Police are looking for witnesses to the incident involving a lorry and a silver Audi A3

A heavy goods vehicle travelling north on the A43 last week was subjected to road rage by a car driver.

The lorry was heading north from Silverstone between 5.20pm and 5.30pm last Friday (July 23).   The HGV driver spotted a silver Audi A3 being driven in a dangerous manner.

As both vehicles reached a roundabout junction, the lorry driver challenged the other driver about the nature of his driving.

Both drivers then continued along the A43.

As they reached Towcester at the A43/A5 roundabout, the driver of the Audi pulled in front of the lorry and blocked the carriageway.   The car driver got out of his vehicle and verbally abused the lorry driver.

The car driver then got back into his vehicle and threw a glass bottle, which smashed the lorry windscreen.

Witnesses to the incident are now being sought.

The Audi driver is described as an Asian man, in his mid to late 20s, of a slim build with short black cropped hair and a neatly trimmed beard and moustache.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the altercation, or who may have captured the Audi A3 driving on the northbound carriageway of the A43 on dash cam footage.

Northamptonshire Police can be contacted on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
