North Oxon Tory Chairman: We have been badly let down

Hugo Brown says he feels utterly dismayed and incredibly angry
“We have been badly let down.” That’s the view of Hugo Brown who is the Chairman of the North Oxfordshire Conservative Association.
In a letter to members, which Banbury FM has been shown, Mr Brown says the events of the last day have left him “utterly dismayed and incredibly angry”.
In what he describes as “testing times” to be a Conservative Party member, Mr Brown says: “This is not the sort of behaviour the country or the party expects from a Prime Minister.”
In the letter the local association Chairman says he does not normally comment on national events but felt it was necessary in light of recent events.
The full text of the note says: “The events of the past 24 hours have left me utterly dismayed and incredibly angry. I suspect most of you will feel the same. This is not the sort of behaviour the country or the party expects from a Prime Minister.
“These are testing times to be a member of the Conservative Party. In this era of politics by social media, it can be too easy to make instantaneous judgements and it is for that reason that I do not write to members with comments on national events lightly, but it felt necessary today.
“We have been badly let down. We have to expect better days on the horizon.”
