Paramedics assaulted by man they were trying to help

An 18-year-old man was arrested after the Christmas Eve incident

A man was arrested on Christmas Eve after he assaulted paramedics who were trying to help him.   A member of the public who intervened to try and help was also assaulted.

South Central Ambulance Service had been called to reports of an unconscious male in the street on Bath Road in Banbury.   When they arrived the 18-year-old male became violent.   The paramedics were both assaulted as was a member of the public who intervened.

Thames Valley Police arrested the man.   A spokesperson said: “Assaults on emergency workers will not be tolerated and our thanks go to those members of the public who assisted.

    it seems an awful waste of the valuable ambulance service that they have to deal with drinks in the gutter.
