13/07/2021

Route heads from Browning Road, along Queensway, out to Broughton, along Wykham Lane and back via the Bloxham Road
Around 260 runners will be heading out for the Banbury 5 Mile Road Race this evening. The run is part of the East Midlands Grand Prix series of 7 races and organised by Banbury Harriers Athletic Club.
Runners will set off from Browning Road and then head along Queensway, out to Broughton, along Wykham Lane and back to Browning Road in town, via the Bloxham Road. The course is described as “a good route with three moderate hills”.
Those taking part will be heading to Banbury from a wide area, coming from places such as Blisworth, Milton Keynes, Market Harborough and Witney. Points for tonight’s race will count towards to placings in the race series.
The winning runner is expected to complete the course in around 26 minutes.
44 volunteer marshalls from Banbury Harriers will help this evening’s event run smoothly. Parking is being provided at Wykham Park Academy and traffic will be held for short periods on the Bloxham Road as they make their way from the car park to the start in Browning Road.
The race starts at 7.45pm.
