Teen released on police bail following reports of moped driven dangerously

Officers will be monitoring the bail conditions are complied with

A 14-year-old Banbury boy has been released on police bail after being arrested following reports a moped was being driven dangerously at Ruscote Arcade last Thursday evening.   Bail was granted with a number of conditions attached, which officers will be actively monitoring to ensure they are being adhered to.

At the time of the boy’s arrest the moped that had been used was seized.

Thames Valley Police say they are still looking for further witnesses who can evidence the manner of driving that was reported to them.    Witness who are willing to provide a statement, or anyone with CCTV or video footage, should make contact, quoting reference 43220323206.

Meanwhile, on Saturday lunchtime more reports were received of motorbikes being ridden dangerously around footpaths and parks in the Ruscote area, including Nuffield Drive, Lanchester Drive and Hill View Crescent.

A spokesperson for the Police said: “We are aware that this is an ongoing issue for residents, and there are a variety of different people participating in such activity.

“We encourage residents to report to us and if you have details of those involved please do let us know. There are times when other incidents may take priority however do not let this discourage you from calling us as we will respond where able.”
