Local success to be on show at Bank Holiday Monday fixture
The Randox Grand National and Foxhunters Chase trophies are both likely to be on display at the Mollington Point to Point this Bank Holiday Monday.
Following a win by locally owned Noble Yeats at the Grand National, the event’s organisers are hopeful that owner Robert Waley-Cohen from Edgehill, and his now-retired jockey-son Sam, will put the trophy on show.
The Foxhunters’ Chase winner Latenightpass is due to be paraded by owner-breeder Pippa Ellis, who will also take along her trophy.
Monday’s seven-race card gets under way at 2pm. Watering of the course started on Monday, with the aim of maintaining the going on the easy side of Good. The fixture has attracted 97 entries.
There will be a parade of hounds between races three and four.
Admission is £15 per person on the day and under 16s go free.
