TEDxBanbury Thursday event to focus on climate action
14/10/2020
Virtual evening session following on from global Countdown Summit launch event last weekend
Next October an international event called Countdown Summit will aim to share “a blueprint for a beautiful net-zero future”. It’s organised by TED – a non-profit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading.
An official global launch ahead of the event took place last weekend and locally TEDxBanbury will be joining in on Thursday evening (October 15).
TED organisers say: “To make progress on climate action we need to collaborate on a global scale, and your community has an important role to play.”
The TEDxBanbury hosted event will be held virtually. They have planned an eclectic blend of selected talks from the official launch and Banbury focused discussion. Dan Ludlow from Banbury’s Zero Waste Retailer Nothing But Footprints will also be speaking alongside artist Dorota Grabkowska. Dorota has recently created an art installation for Forest England, which incorporates recycled materials found in the Forest of Dean.
The TEDxBanbury virtual event starts at 7pm. More information can be found on the event website.
