Group altercation on Saturday results in three men needing hospital treatment

Cuts, swelling and a broken nose sustained after incident where a BMW rear window was also damaged

A group of between 10 and 15 people were involved in what Police are describing as a “physical altercation” in Chalker Way in Banbury on Saturday night.  

Both men and women were involved in the incident, which resulted in three men, aged in their twenties, sustaining injuries including cuts, swelling and a broken nose. The victims required hospital treatment and have all since been discharged.

During the disorder the rear window of a red BMW was damaged.

Three men, aged 19, 26 and 39, all from Banbury have been arrested on suspicion of assault with injury and released on bail until the 30 November.

Police received a report of the altercation occurring on Saturday evening (November 7th) around 9.45 to 10.15pm.   They are now appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Mark Personius based at Banbury police station, said: “We are currently investigating this incident in Chalker Way and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has information about this incident.”

“If anyone has CCTV or dash-cam footage which covers this area which may have captured this incident we would ask that you check and share that with us too.”

Chalker Way is home to a number of industrial buildings in the Grimsbury area and accessed off the Overthorpe Road. It runs alongside the M40.
