Patient satisfaction, quality improvement initiatives, staff development, leadership, and clinical audit data used assess award winning wards

Two wards at the Horton General Hospital have achieved awards recognising how well-led, safe, caring, responsive, and effective they are.

Juniper Ward and F Ward have achieved gold OxSCA awards – Oxford Scheme for Clinical Accreditation.

The award scheme was developed in consultation with staff and outlines a set of standards clinical wards and departments can use to measure quality and demonstrate improvement in the services they provide.

Clinical areas are evaluated in areas such as patient satisfaction, quality improvement initiatives, staff development, leadership, and clinical audit data.

Award winners are presented with a plaque to display their accreditation attainment level.

Speaking after an earlier award presentation Dr Bruno Holthof, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Having key measures of clinical care in one overarching framework will enable a comprehensive assessment of quality care provision at the Trust. It will also drive continuous improvement, enhancing patient and staff satisfaction at the same time.”
