5 Pop Up in Trinder’s Old Shop
03/12/2020
Initiative over Christmas benefits shoppers and gives property a new lease of life
The former Trinder’s shop in Banbury’s Bridge Street has been given a new lease of life as home to a pop-up shop over Christmas. The property has been empty since 2017, but now five enterprising businesses will use the space during the festive season.
Pop Up 5 Banbury will see five different retailers share the shop and offer shoppers a variety of extra Christmas present ideas. The idea has been made possible after the shop’s owners made it available for the initiative over the next couple of months.
Each of the outlets will be making donations to charities of their choice in return for using the premises.
Within the shop Exclusive Designs will exhibit the automotive digital art images from local man Anthony Fowler.
The Art of Reuse is a mother and daughter venture offering high quality clothing, including high street fashion and designer labels, and quality furnishings. The pre-owned furnishings and fashions have all been selected as they have a lifetime ahead of them.
For those looking for a scooter as a Christmas present JS Scooters have a wide selection available.
EA Embellished Art will be selling LGBTQ+ items and handmade gifts
They are joined by Orinoco, the charity which formed back in 1993, which makes the most of old items through reuse and upcycling.
Yolanda Fletcher the proprietor of The Art of Reuse said: ”My mother, Pamela Ball and I are both passionate about local businesses buying and selling locally, supporting each other and contributing to the protection of the environment.
“I am also excited that each sale from the “Pop Up 5 Banbury” will generate funds for local Charities as part of our agreement with the owners of Trinders”.
Pop Up 5 Banbury opens today (Thursday) at 10.30am and then remains open throughout the Christmas period. You can follow the initiative on Facebook @popup5banbury
