Local surgeries working hard to accelerate the rollout of the vaccination programme

The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination programme is accelerating in the Banbury FM area.   Clinics have been running through this week for the over 80s and plans are in place to continue the work through this weekend.

Elderly patients attending Deddington and Bloxham surgeries have been receiving calls to attend the vaccination clinic running in Chipping Norton.

Banbury Cross Health Centre says it is running a clinic this weekend.   They say “We are working very hard to make sure we vaccinate as many vulnerable and over 80-year-old patients as we can over the weekend.

“We are prioritising vaccinating vulnerable patients in line with national guidance.”

In Brackley Springfield Surgery, Brackley Medical Centre, Towcester Medical Centre and Brook Health Centre in Towcester are working together to vaccinate patients from all four practices at Brackley Medical Centre on Wellington Road.   They say, “We have begun vaccinating our most vulnerable patients.   All patients over the age of 80 have now been invited for their vaccination.  Patients who are housebound will be able to be vaccinated shortly.”

People are asked not to call their surgery enquiring about when they will receive their vaccination, as they will be contacted in due course, following the government guidelines on the priority order.

Meanwhile Banbury United have offered their clubhouse as a venue to host vaccination clinics. The Club says “We welcome with open arms the opportunity to support [the NHS] and our community.”
