Where to leave messages of condolence and floral tributes
09/09/2022
Churches and public buildings are offering the chance to share thoughts and memories
People have started signing condolence books as the nation comes to terms with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Churches and public buildings are offering people the chance to share their thoughts and memories.
Areas have also been set up in Banbury and Brackley for floral tributes.
Here’s where you can find condolence books:
- At Banbury Town Hall between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday and between 10am and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
- At Cherwell District Council’s HQ, Bodicote House, between 9am and 5pm each weekday.
- In Brackley Town Hall and The Old Fire Station.
- In the Woodgreen Library at the Woodgreen Leisure Centre. Messages in memory of the Queen can be left during the library’s normal opening hours.
- You’ll also find a Book of Condolence at St Mary’s Church in Banbury and St Pauls Church on the Warwick Road.
- Alternatively head online to the official website royal.uk.
Books of condolence will remain open until Her Majesty’s funeral.
Floral tributes can be left in Banbury by the Town Hall and in Brackley Town Park. They can also be laid at Bodicote House – Cherwell’s HQ – on the grassed area in front of reception, next to the stone monument.
