Thief threatens man with knife during Banbury robbery

The robbery happened early last Friday in Grimsbury
A thief threatened a man in his forties with a knife whilst committing a robbery at a property on Merton Street in Grimsbury during the early hours of last Friday morning. The male offender entered the property at Chiltern House between 1.45 and 2am.
When inside he demanded money and threatened the occupant with a knife. He got away with around £35 in cash.
The victim suffered a minor injury to his foot, but didn’t need hospital treatment.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for any witnesses to the aggravated burglary.
The offender is described as a white male of medium build, wearing a red shiny / silky long-sleeved bomber jacket with blue jeans and pristine white trainers. He had a unique tattoo on the top of his left hand, which looked like a large sun with a pattern inside.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Sophie Smith based at Banbury police station, said: “This is a concerning incident and we are carrying out a thorough investigation.
“We are asking any members of the public who may recognise the man described to please get in touch, or we would ask anyone who may have CCTV footage around the area of Chiltern House to please upload it to our online portal.
“We would also ask anyone with other information to please call 101 quoting reference 43220405357 or if you do not wish to speak to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
