Secondary education applications open
21/09/2022
Parents and guardians have until October 31 to choose their child’s secondary school
The new school term may just have got underway, but already its time for parents and guardians of youngsters in their final year of primary school to start planning their secondary education.
Oxfordshire County Council has opened up the application for children who are currently in Year 6. They will move to a secondary school in September next year.
Parents and guardians are being encouraged to list four preferences on their application. This doesn’t make it less likely that their first preference will be offered, but it does reduce the risk of all preferences being unsuccessful and children being allocated a place at a school that is not named on their list.
The deadline for completed applications is October 31 and it is important to apply on time. Late applications will be processed later in the year and are far less likely to secure places at the preferred schools.
Contact will be made with the result for an application on national offer day, 1 March 2023.
Applications can be submitted here.
