Tractor Run extended to include Banbury

In six years the fairy lit convoy has raised over £69,000 for Katharine House Hospice

The popular RC Baker Christmas Tractor Run will this year bring its festive convoy of fairy lit tractors right into the heart of Banbury.   The route for the annual December fund raiser has been extended by organisers to include a trip into town, around Banbury Cross.

This will be the seventh year that the farming community has come together to drive a convoy of festively decorated tractors around the area, bringing some festive cheer and raising money for the Katharine House Hospice.

Last year’s Tractor Run raised over £23,000 for the Hospice, taking the total donated since the Tractor Run started to £69,000.

In the past the route has set off from RC Baker’s headquarters, heading out to South Newington, Milcombe, Bloxham, Adderbury, Aynho, Clifton and Deddington.   This year’s extension will see the convoy upon arriving in Bloxham, heading through the centre of the village and into Banbury on the Bloxham Road.   After a loop around Banbury Cross it will then head out of town on the Oxford Road, through Bodicote, to re-join the original route in Adderbury.

The addition of Banbury town to the route will be a popular move with many townsfolk having driven out to the villages to view the spectacle in previous years.

In 2021 over 100 decorated tractors took part in the Tractor Run, including one driven by the star of TV show Clarkson’s Farm – Kaleb Cooper.

Bookings to take part in this year’s Tractor Run open on December 1.   The convoy will set off around tea time on Saturday December 17th.
