Christmas Eve advice for train users
23/12/2022
Industrial action means services will finish earlier than usual
Train users are being warned that services will be finishing much earlier than usual this Christmas Eve. The continuing industrial action by members of the RMT union is affecting both train operators and Network Rail.
On Chiltern a very limited service will run through the day with the last London bound train leaving just after 4pm. Anyone needing to get back to Banbury from the capital must make sure they don’t miss the last service from Marylebone at 3.10pm.
No Chiltern trains will operate north of Banbury.
On Cross Country the last train heading towards Southampton leaves at 11.55am and the final service to Oxford departs at 12.55pm.
Cross Country services will run northbound with the last to Birmingham leaving Banbury at 2.25pm.
The advice to customers is that they should only travel if it’s absolutely essential.
