Planning for local coronation events underway
13/01/2023
Brackley and Banbury town councils are both organising events to mark the occasion
Planning is underway for local events to mark the coronation. King Charles III will be crowned on Saturday May 6 and the government has announced that Monday May 8 will be a Bank Holiday to allow the celebrations to continue.
Brackley Town Council staff are working with Councillors and others in local community groups to organise a one-day family fun event to mark the occasion. They are keen to hear from anyone who would like to be involved, such as food traders and those interested in taking a community stall.
Georgia Connor is the contact at the Town Council: georgia.connor@brackleynorthants-tc.gov.uk.
In Banbury the Town Council is planning a Party in the Park type event for Sunday May 7. This will run in Spiceball Park between midday and 9.30pm with live music, streetfood, pop up bars, entertainment and a fireworks finale.
