Lorry driver crashes into billboard
31/01/2023
A breath test indicated the driver was more than twice the legal limit for alcohol
A lorry driver was due to appear in court this morning following a positive alcohol test after their vehicle collided with a large digital advertising billboard yesterday. The foreign registered HGV ran into the sign at the Cherwell Valley Services, just off junction 10 of the M40.
Images released by the Thames Valley Police Roads Policing team show the lorry windscreen smashed with the advertising board embedded in the cab.
At the scene the driver blew 72 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – more than twice of the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
The driver was interviewed and subsequently charged and remanded for a court appearance today.
