Industrial action affecting local schools
02/03/2023
Some are operating close to normally, others are closed to most year groups
Members of the National Education Union are taking industrial action again today. Locally schools are affected in different ways with some operating normally for all but one or two year groups, whilst others are closed to most young people.
In Banbury only those from the final GCSE year at Wykham Park Academy are being taught in person today, joined by any year 13’s who have a mock exam are also in school.
Down the road at BGN its only years 8 and 9 that are at home remote learning.
Meanwhile at North Oxfordshire Academy, years 7 to 10 are working at home. GCSE year 11 students have been in this morning, but sixth form students are in all day.
In Bloxham at the Warriner School year 7s and year 13s are in today. The school says it has selected these two years as the year 7s are their youngest cohort of students and year 13 is their smallest year group, which they can cover with the teachers that are available.
