Cycle safety training available in Banbury
27/04/2023
The practical session includes advice for cyclists on the approach to roundabouts and busy junctions
Cyclists are being encouraged to sign-up for free training in Banbury.
The session on Wednesday June 14 is designed to build confidence and improve safety awareness, particularly on the approach to roundabouts and at busy junctions.
The two-hour adults cycling with confidence training is being run by Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service.
The session will be a practical one and participants should attend with their bike, safety helmet and appropriate clothing.
Andy Ford, from Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service’ community safety team, said: “Cycling is a great way to exercise and is an environmentally friendly form of transport. However, it is important that anyone using their bike is familiar with the Highway Code and the safety critical dos and don’ts, particularly on busy main roads and at junctions.”
The training runs from 10am until midday and places can be booked by emailing roadsafety.education@Oxfordshire.gov.uk.
