The initiative identifies people who may be displaying signs of predatory behaviour

Officers from Thames Valley Police were deployed in the Banbury area over the Bank Holiday weekend as part of the force’s Project Vigilant – an initiative to identify people who may be displaying signs of predatory behaviour such as sexual harassment, inappropriate touching and loitering.

Project Vigilant uses a combination of uniformed and plain clothed officers to carry out patrols in areas outside night clubs, bars and pubs.

Officers say they engaged with a number of different people with a view to ensuring that everybody had a fun but safe night out in the town.
