Three younger boys were arrested, one of whom is just 12
A 16-year-old-boy was robbed at knifepoint close to Banbury Cross on Saturday evening (June 17). Three younger boys, two aged 14 and one of just 12, have been arrested following the incident.
£5 cash was taken from the victim, who was outside the Childcare First Nursery at the time.
Following the robbery, which happened at around 8.20pm, the offenders then made off towards Banbury town centre. The victim was not injured in the incident.
The three younger boys are all from Banbury and were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place. They have been released on bail until September 1.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Owen Farniss of the Priority Crime Team, based at Banbury, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident or who may have dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
