Organisers decide to call off this year’s event as it is “too risky”
The organisers of Adderbury’s Party In The Park have announced this summer’s event will not be taking place. In a statement issued last night they said they were unable to bring the positive news about this year’s event they had hoped for.
The day long musical festival, in Adderbury’s Lucy Plackett Playing Field, was scheduled to take place on Saturday June 19th. But the organisers noted the recent announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson that the lifting of restrictions on the opening of venues and events would not be before June 21st.
They said: “Taking everything into consideration, we came to a unanimous decision that it would be too risky to consider moving the date until later this summer.
“Although the vaccination means that the prospects for events are looking less bleak for the future, we are still in the grip of the pandemic. In line with many other large and small festivals who have also postponed, we consider the risks too great currently to proceed this year.”
The message concludes with a hope for other live music opportunities in the future: “We are, however, considering options for other live music events later in the year.”
The announcement from Adderbury’s Party In The Park follows a similar announcement when Bodfest was cancelled earlier this year.
