Cherwell Business Awards finalists announced
13/07/2023
In a brand new Town Centre category the winner will fly the flag for Banbury
The finalists for this year’s Cherwell Business Awards have been announced and Banbury organisations dominate a brand new Town Centre category.
Banbury Town Council, Banbury Sewing Centre in Parson’s Street and Lock 29 are nominated for the award which looks to highlight a business, enterprise or initiative that is contributing positively to the vitality of a town or urban centre in the district.
The Cherwell Business Awards celebrate companies which have demonstrated exceptional achievements, innovation, and outstanding contributions to the local economy in the Cherwell District.
Other Banbury based finalists include Dementia Active, based on the Wildmere Industrial Estate, who are one of the finalists in the Charity and Community Award. They have an established track record in providing social activity groups for people with dementia.
In the Innovation Award category Beaumont Road based Ethos Technology could be a winner. They formed with the aim of bridging the technology gap between the USA and the UK, delivering next generation technologies.
Ethos have also been named as a finalist in the Large Business Award category alongside Adderbury based Tugo Food Systems, who provide high-quality, innovative food solutions.
Both JDE and Whitley Stimpson have been named amongst the finalists for the Apprentice Employer of the Year Award.
Norbar Torque Tools continues in its role as sponsor of the Overall Winner Award 2023 and will be selecting their winner from all the shortlisted finalists.
A distinguished panel of judges selected the finalists. The judging panel included industry experts and influential business leaders representing the category and award sponsors.
Placi Espejo is the Director of the Cherwell Business Awards. She said: “We are thrilled to announce this year’s exceptional finalists, who represent the best of the best in our vibrant business community.
“These companies have demonstrated remarkable achievements, innovation, and dedication to their customers, employees, and the local economy. It was particularly hard this year to shortlist the finalists, given the high quality of entries across all categories. We congratulate all the finalists and commend them for their hard work and outstanding contributions.”
The winners of each category will be unveiled at a Gala Dinner, taking place on Friday September 8 at The Chesterton Hotel in Bicester.
