24/07/2023
Its hoped the app will help both residents and visitors
A new app has been launched to make public access to council services easier.
Banbury Town Council has developed the multi-purpose app which provides a smooth and simple way to explore town council services and facilities and to contact the council.
It also helps people deal with Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council by distinguishing between the services each council provides.
The app is downloadable from Banbury Town Council’s own website. Its currently at a development stage and its capabilities will expand over time.
Leader of the town council Kieron Mallon said: “This app is an excellent communication channel between the town council and local people who need to access council services or want information. Visitors can also benefit from the facility.
“People can obtain information quickly and accurately, and it isn’t necessary to have sophisticated or expensive equipment to be able to use it.
Cllr Johnny Bunce, who helped create the app, said: “When the app is fully developed, Banbury will be one of the most advanced town councils in the country using e-technology to make it easy for residents and visitors to know what is happening and how to use the town’s facilities and services.”
