A 13-year-old Banbury boy has been charged with knife, drug and criminal damage offences as part of Banbury Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Operation Jankle anti-social behaviour investigations.
The boy was arrested on Tuesday evening and is due to appear before a youth court this morning (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “The decision to remand a child to court is not one that we make lightly, and we work closely with Children’s Social Care to ensure a safety plan is put in place upon his release.”
The boy faces two charges of possessing a bladed article in a public place, a further two charges of criminal damage and one charge for the possession of cannabis.
Operation Jankle covers Banbury Neighbourhood Policing Team’s work to address a group of youths responsible for ongoing anti-social behaviour and offending in the Banbury area.
