Assistant Manager James Constable leaves Banbury United
Banbury United has announced that Assistant Manager James Constable will not be returning to the club for the forthcoming season. The former Oxford United player joined the Puritans alongside first team manager Andy Whing in May last year.
As well as his management role, James Constable also appeared on the pitch, making nine appearances during the shortened season. Mr Constable has made the decision to leave due to a number of circumstances, including a new job, a recent move and having a young family which have left him feeling unable to give the role the commitment it requires.
James said “It’s been a pleasure to work and play for Banbury over the last 12 months. Working with Whingy again was an easy decision. Such a shame the season was cut short, but the memories from the FA Cup run will stay with me forever.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all the players and staff, the chairman and directors, the wonderful volunteers and the great Puritans fans.
“I wish Andy and all the players the best of luck next season and hope it’s another season to remember!”
Manager Andy Whing said: “I would like to thank James for his time at the club. He was an integral part on and off the pitch and will be missed. Also, I had the pleasure of playing alongside James who had a fantastic playing career and wish him and his family all the best in the future.’
