The Indian Queen has been named Local Restaurant of the Year
A local curry house has triumphed at the 2023 English Curry Awards. The Indian Queen on the Stratford Road just outside Wroxton was named the Local Restaurant of the Year at a ceremony on Monday.
Now in their twelfth year, the awards are a celebration of the best curry houses and chefs across the country.
More than 400 guests were in attendance as the winners were announced at The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.
The Indian Queen was amongst nine finalists from across the country for the title of Local Restaurant of the Year.
Writing on social media moments after winning the award a member of the Indian Queen team said: “Thanks to our locals and everyone who have supported us. Hard work pays off. Another award to the collection.
“Well done the Indian Queen”.
A spokesperson for the awards said: “It has been an unforgettable night, filled with incredible food, vibrant energy, and passionate conversations.
“We have celebrated the finest in the English curry scene, recognising the creativity, innovation, and exceptional service that have become synonymous with this beloved cuisine.
“The curry industry is a vital part of our culture, and these awards recognised the exceptional talents of the individuals and businesses that make it so special. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees, and thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event.”
