Lloyd Sabin has led the Men’s 1st XI since 2016
Banbury Cricket Club held their end of season dinner this weekend and paid tribute to the man who has led the Men’s 1st XI for the last 8 years.
Lloyd Sabin has decided to step down as the team’s captain, but will continue as a player.
At the end of his tenure tributes were paid to Lloyd. His teammates presented him with a commemorative framed photo and he was named as an Honorary Life Member of the club.
Since taking on the role of captain in 2016 Lloyd has scored 6,274 runs, including five centuries. Amongst the silverware filling the Banbury Cricket Club cabinet he’s led his team to seven Oxfordshire County Cup wins and into the last four of the National T20 competition.
A spokesperson for Banbury Cricket Club said: “Words and numbers only scratch the surface when looking at the impact Lloyd Sabin has had during his 8 year period as Men’s 1st XI captain.
“The club culture, success & togetherness is all led by him.”
The new Men’s 1st XI captain will be confirmed at the club’s AGM in January.
