Burst water main affects a number of Brackley properties
10/10/2023
The Halse Road will remain closed until the repair is completed
A number of properties on the northern side of Brackley have suffered from low or no water pressure for large parts of today. The lack of water resulted in the closure of Radstone Primary School.
The problem was down to a burst water main, caused by a large fire in the area.
Water supplies were restored by mid-afternoon.
The Halse Road was closed so engineers could complete the repair. It is likely to remain closed until later this week.
A spokesperson for Anglian Water told Banbury FM: “We’re really sorry some customers in Brackley have had low water pressure or no water at all today. This was due to a burst water main, caused by a large fire in the area. Our teams have been working really hard to get everything back to normal as quickly as they can, and everyone’s water should now be back on.
“In order to make sure our engineers and other road users are safe while we work, we have had to close Halse Road, with a fully signposted diversion in place via Cockley Road. We’d like to thank our customers for bearing with us while we finish this repair and get the road ready to safely reopen later this week.”
