Operators were found committing a string of offences in Middleton Cheney
Scrap metal collectors who were operating illegally in Middleton Cheney were also found to have also broken other laws. They were also found to have no driving licence and no insurance.
The collector’s van was seized and they have been reported for the offences
Northants Police made the discovery in Middleton Cheney yesterday (Thursday July 29).
Two males were with the white Ford Transit van and when questioned they were found not to have the correct operating licence for collecting scrap metal.
Further checks revealed they also had no driving licence and no insurance.
After the vehicle was impounded both men were left to find their own way home on public transport.
