Driver caught off road-roading at Burton Dassett Hills
12/08/2021
Section 59 notice issued meaning vehicle can be seized if similar offences occur
A driver has been issued with a Section 59 warning after being caught off-roading at Burton Dassett Hills. An officer from Wellsbourne Police spotted the car on Wednesday evening
The driver’s vehicle became stuck as it descended the hill and had to be pushed out of the dirt. This resulted in the bottom of the car scraping along the bank.
A Section 59 allows the police to give drivers a warning if they are reported to have used their vehicle in a manner which causes “alarm, distress or annoyance”. If reported to have done so again within a year the police have the right to confiscate the vehicle.
